We keep this simple. VerseComics is built for readers of all ages, and we take your privacy seriously — especially for younger readers. Here is exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Who We Are

What We Collect and Why
When you create an account
- Your email address and password (hashed — we never store your plain password)
- Your display name and date of birth (to apply the right age rating filters)
- Your country
We use this to create and manage your account.
When you read comics
- Which episodes you read and how far you got
- Which episodes you completed
- Your reading preferences (genres and themes you select during onboarding)
We use this to remember your progress and to power VC Buddy, our AI recommendation feature.
When you make a purchase
- Transaction details (amount, currency, episode or season purchased)
- Payment is processed by Paystack — we never see or store your card details
We use this to grant you access to purchased content and to send you a receipt.
When you use the platform
- Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
- Your device type and country (anonymised)
We use this to understand how the platform is being used and to improve it.
When you sign in with Google
- Your name, email address, and Google profile picture
We use this only to create or identify your account. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.
Children and Family Accounts
VerseComics welcomes readers of all ages. Our content is moral, safe, and education-forward with zero explicit material.
- Children under 13 — A parent or guardian must create the account, manage purchases, and supervise access. By registering an account for a child under 13, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian.
- Ages 13 and above — Readers may register and manage their own accounts independently.
- Mature-rated content (17+) — Accessible only to users who have verified their age. Parents control what their child's account can access.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have done so in error, contact us at support@versecomics.com and we will delete the data promptly.
How We Share Your Data
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. Full stop.
We share data only with the services that run VerseComics:

Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in and to understand how the platform is used. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies from third parties.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in.
Data Security
Your password is hashed using bcrypt. Access tokens are short-lived (15 minutes) and stored in memory only — never in your browser storage. We use HTTPS across the entire platform.
No system is perfectly secure, but we have built VerseComics with security as a foundation, not an afterthought.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify registered users by email before the changes take effect.
